About Us — Mini Split Repair West Palm Beach FL Pros

Who We Are — West Palm Beach Mini Split Repair

Mini Split Repair FL is a licensed HVAC contractor focused on ductless mini split repair in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. We work on mini splits — not general HVAC, not plumbing, not duct systems. That focus means we diagnose ductless-specific problems faster and carry the right parts more often.

A growing share of Palm Beach County's larger AC companies are now owned by private equity groups. We're not. No membership programs, no pressure to sign service contracts, no upsells during a repair call.

Why We Focus Only on Mini Splits

WPB's salt air corrodes aluminum coils and copper refrigerant fittings differently than it affects central AC systems. The historic 1920s and 1930s homes in El Cid, Flamingo Park, and along South Dixie Highway's Antique Row corridor were built without ductwork — mini splits are the only cooling option in those rooms, so a unit that's stopped working in 90°F Florida heat leaves nothing to fall back on. A technician who works on these units daily knows the failure patterns, the brand-specific error codes, and the WPB climate factors that a generalist HVAC company learns more slowly.

What Makes WPB Mini Split Repair Different From General HVAC

Most HVAC companies in Palm Beach County service central ducted systems, package units, heat pumps, commercial rooftop units, and mini splits — all of it. That breadth is fine for homeowners who need a generalist. It's not ideal for homeowners with a ductless mini split that's failing in a specific way that's common in WPB's climate.

The problems that come up most often in West Palm Beach mini split service are not the problems that dominate general HVAC training. Algae in condensate drain lines — the most common call we get — is a ductless-specific issue. General HVAC training focuses on central air drain pans and condensate systems designed for 3-ton and larger systems. Mini split drain lines clog differently, clear differently, and need to be treated differently to prevent recurrence.

Salt-air corrosion on mini split refrigerant line sets is another WPB-specific issue that general HVAC training doesn't emphasize. The flare connections on a mini split line set are smaller, harder to access, and more vulnerable to coastal corrosion than the larger fittings on central AC systems. A tech who works on mini splits every day in WPB's climate has handled dozens of these — a generalist encounters them infrequently.

This is why we work on ductless systems only. The failure patterns are specific, the tools are different, and the WPB climate adds a layer of specificity that benefits from daily experience with exactly these units in exactly this environment.

Response to "Are You Licensed?"

Yes. All work is performed by licensed Florida HVAC contractors. Florida requires a Certified HVAC Contractor (CAC) license or Registered HVAC Contractor (RAC) license for any HVAC work beyond basic maintenance. Refrigerant handling — recharging, recovery, or any work on the refrigerant circuit — it also requires EPA Section 608 certification, which is a federal requirement under the Clean Air Act.

You have every right to ask to see a license number before authorizing work. We'll provide it. If any contractor won't show you a current Florida license, don't hire them — unlicensed HVAC activity is a significant and documented problem in South Florida.

How We Handle Pricing at Every Visit

We give you a written price before we start. Not a range. Not "it depends." A specific number for the specific repair we've diagnosed, including parts and labor, before we pick up a tool.

The diagnostic fee ($75 to $150 depending on the situation) is credited toward the repair when you proceed. If you decide not to proceed — you pay the diagnostic fee only. No surprise charges after the fact.

We don't have membership programs, annual contract upsells, or commissions for our techs tied to upselling services. A tech who shows up to fix your drain line doesn't have a financial incentive to tell you the capacitor "also needs replacing" unless it genuinely does.

The Private Equity Ownership Question

Over the last several years, private equity firms have bought up a large number of residential HVAC companies across Florida, including some well-known names in Palm Beach County. For homeowners, the ownership change usually isn't visible on the truck or the website, but it can change how a service call is run, and that's worth understanding.

Private equity ownership of HVAC companies changes the incentive structure in ways that affect the service experience. PE-owned companies have investor return targets that pressure service departments to maximize revenue per visit. This shows up as membership contract pushes, upselling during service calls, parts markups above market rate, and — as documented in reviews — departure from the quality standards that built the company's original reputation.

We're not PE-owned. No membership programs. No commissions tied to upselling. No annual revenue targets per technician. A tech who comes to clean your drain line has no financial incentive to recommend additional services you don't need. If something else needs attention, we'll mention it — but we won't manufacture urgency around it.
